Israeli Attacks Target Central Iran
According to Iranian news outlets, two individuals lost their lives and four others sustained injuries during the assault on Qom. Air defense mechanisms were reportedly active throughout the region.
An Iranian news agency, referencing an official from the Qom Provincial Crisis Management Office, reported that a 16-year-old boy was among those fatally struck when the fourth story of a residential building in the Salariyeh district was hit by an "Israeli missile".
As cited by the agency, a statement from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) revealed that they had aimed at "Israeli military sites and support centers in central Israel and at the Ben Gurion Airport."
The IRGC asserted that their "predetermined targets" had been "successfully destroyed" and that the coordinated assault using both missiles and drones was still in progress, being carried out in a deliberate and synchronized fashion.
The conflict ignited on June 13 when Israel initiated air raids on a number of Iranian positions, including defense and atomic facilities, which led Tehran to launch counterattacks in response.
Israeli officials stated that a minimum of 25 people have died and hundreds more have been wounded due to Iranian missile assaults since then.
