China Sends Advanced Communications Satellite into Space

(MENAFN) China executed the launch of an experimental communications satellite late Saturday evening from its southern coastal spaceport, marking another milestone in the nation's expanding space program.

The spacecraft lifted off at 8:30 p.m. local time (1230 GMT) from the Wenchang Space Launch Site situated in Hainan province, state media reported. A Long March-5 carrier rocket propelled the payload into its planned orbital position without incident.

Mission objectives center on validating cutting-edge multi-band and high-speed communications technologies, officials confirmed.

The successful deployment represents the 618th flight in the Long March rocket family's operational history, underscoring the program's sustained launch cadence and reliability record.
