Ex-PM Brown Urges Police Inquiry into Andrew’s Links to Epstein Flights
Brown reportedly sent letters to six police forces, suggesting that civil servants be questioned regarding Andrew’s tenure as UK trade envoy, according to reports. Andrew served as envoy from 2001 to 2011, including nearly three years while Brown was in No. 10.
The former prime minister has also requested a full investigation into the trade envoy role, its cost to taxpayers, and any connections between Andrew’s government work and the late financier Epstein. Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing related to Epstein, who died in a New York prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
Brown told reporters last week that he submitted a five-page memorandum to the Metropolitan, Surrey, Sussex, Thames Valley, and other relevant UK police forces. “This memorandum provides new and additional information to that which I submitted last week to the Met, Essex and Thames Valley police forces where I expressed my concern that we secure justice for trafficked girls and women,” he said.
Reports also indicate that Brown is concerned about a flight Epstein took on a Gulfstream jet that landed at RAF Marham in Norfolk in December 2000, approximately 20 miles (32 km) from the Sandringham Estate. These flights, along with other Epstein-related trips in and out of the UK, were highlighted in a news outlet investigation in December.
